 TRADITIONAL MONTH BY MONTH BIRTHSTONES

Traditional Birthstones are gemstones (both precious and semi-precious) that have been assigned to a specific month by the National Association of Jewelers (USA), back in 1912.

As you can imagine, this was mostly in an effort to motivate consumers to purchase expensive gemstones.

Although many of the gemstones chosen, had traditional associations with the planets and Astrology, their desire was to promote their more expensive gems, so adjustments were made to the list. 

Also, due to the fact that Astrology does not use the same calendar to determine the Sun Signs, using the month by month list can be confusing & inaccurate.

In Astrology each sign begins and ends around the 3rd week of each month. Since the Zodiac stones have a direct correspondence to the planets that rule over each sign, the month by month birthstones do not accurately represent the Sun Signs.

Working with stones from your Sun Sign  can enhance the positive attributes of your sign or to balance its challenging aspects.

You can also carry or wear sacred stones to enhance or balance the energies of the current astrological cycle.
